Save in Travel

Wednesday, December 26th, 2007

Traveling means spending money to go to different places for the purpose of recreation and relaxation. A single holiday could cost you thousands of dollars for accommodations, airfare and other things like food and buying souvenirs. However, there are some things that you can do to save some money in your holidays. One of the possible things that you can do is to look for hostels group booking companies and take care of the group discounts that they offer. In addition to that, group bookings companies will also save you a lot of time in organizing rather than you book group accommodations yourself. Thus, it is more practical to have your group accommodations booked by a group booking company.

Visiting a place during peak seasons will cost you a lot of money. Traveling during lean seasons rather than peak seasons means cheaper airfare, accommodations and fewer crowds. There are also online hotel booking websites that offer great discounts that you can take advantage of. Asking around from some of your friends that already visited your destination would also help. You’ll never know who can give you useful tips to save more money and make your holiday a better experience.

Daddy Day Camp

Wednesday, December 26th, 2007

Daddy Day Camp was not the best movie that I’ve ever seen but I still liked it. I’m actually a bit disappointed that it was the third worst movie of this year.

It’s never a good sign when Eddie Murphy turns down a sequel to one of his own movies. Even the “dream team” of first-time director Fred Savage (yes, Kevin from ‘The Wonder Years’) and star Cuba Gooding, Jr. (yes, the man who thought ‘Chill Factor’ was a good idea) couldn’t save this cinematic turd.

City on Waters

Sunday, December 16th, 2007

Though our world is mostly made up of water, most humans live on land and because of this, there are a lot of things in the world of water that we have yet to see. Cruising is probably the best way to explore new things about our world. Living in cruise ship for days should be no problem because you will have everything that you need and want in a ship. Be sure to read your cruise guide to make the most out of your cruising vacation and avoid disappointment. This will give you an exact idea on what to expect and what not to expect inside the cruise ship.

Every cruise ship has a different theme and choosing the one that will meet your preferred vacation will make your holiday more memorable. Are you planning to treat your kids for a cruise? Then getting tickets for a Disney cruise will make them really happy. Planning to reward yourself after your long waited big promotion? Then try a luxury cruise and give yourself the reward you truly deserve. Whatever your reason for cruising is, there’s always a cruise theme that will meet your expectations.

Learn Spanish and Surf

Sunday, December 16th, 2007

If I would be given a choice on what second language to learn, it would be Spanish because I find that language sexy and interesting. Learning a second language is fun and exciting especially when you get to learn it in a relaxed environment. Spanish immersion Costa Rica is probably the best way to learn Spanish and have fun at the same time. Costa Rica has some of the world’s beautiful beaches and surfing spots and learning Spanish in this kind of environment is great!

For people who haven’t tried surfing the waves yet, Costa Rica is the perfect place to start learning how to surf. Being surrounded by waters, there’s just a lot of surfing spots in Costa Rica for you to choose from. They also have qualified instructors that will make sure you learn the sport the easiest and most fun way possible. If you are planning to learn Spanish and surfing, better do both of them in one holiday. That will double your fun and excitement but save you some bucks.

Fun and Serious Matters

Sunday, December 16th, 2007

My aunt asked me a favor to accompany her to Nevada for two reasons - to have fun and take care of a serious matter. First, we will take to someone who is going to introduce her to highly qualified and reputable Nevada living trusts. My aunt has some properties in Nevada and she wants someone to manage them for her. My aunt has evaluated the difference between a last will and a living trust and it seems that living trusts got the upper hand.

After taking care of my aunt’s estate plans, we are going to visit Las Vegas and have some fun. I’m not sure if we are actually going to go into a casino but that would be great. My aunt should pay for my games of course. Anyway, this is going to be my first time to go into a casino and playing in a slot machine would probably already be great for me. Our flight to Nevada is scheduled a week after New Year and we are both excited and often talks about it. Too bad it will just be the two of us because it could be more fun if there are more people who can join us.

Travel and Living Shows

Saturday, December 15th, 2007

Travel is not just about going to different places and doing activities but instead, the purposes of traveling also includes getting to know more about places and appreciating them. Because of this, I also consider travel shows as a big part of my travel lifestyle. The information and entertainment that they offer their viewers are far more valuable than any award pin or trophy that they could receive. I guess the awards and recognitions also help motivate them to make good shows. Who wouldn’t want to receive trophies, plaques or award pins and to be recognized as the best?

Some of the best shows that I regularly see on TV are on the Discover Channel, Travel Living and Animal Planet. Among these three television networks, my personal favorite is Travel Living because it has a lot of cooking shows that shares the different cuisines that you can find in different countries. This is probably because I really love cooking. Next in line would be the Animal planet because I really love pets and animals and I would love to know more about them too. Truly, these shows are great and very interesting.

Egypt Holidays

Saturday, December 15th, 2007

As a child, I used to think that Egypt was a boring place because it was nothing but a desert. However, as I grew up and read more about the country, I realized that this is a place that a traveler shouldn’t miss. Egypt holidays offer a fun and adventure filled experience. Here you can explore the red sea and dive to be amazed by ship wrecks, beautiful corals, colorful and different species of fish, giant turtles and sharks. You should be aware though that getting corals here for souvenirs are prohibited. Egypt is well known for its beautiful pyramids, ruins and temples and seeing one yourself is a must when you visit the place. This is usually done through dessert treks.

You can also enjoy a cruise at the Nile River or play tennis, croquet or do horseback riding. For adventure seekers, you can learn or practice kitesurfing, surfing, windsurfing, kayaking and mountain biking here in Egypt. There are some holiday package providers that include adventure sports lessons, accommodations and airfare in one price. Availing of these packages will save you a good amount of money especially if you’re traveling in groups. If you are looking for a place that offers exciting activities, rich culture and interesting history, Egypt is your travel destination.

Cancun Vacations

Saturday, December 15th, 2007

Aside from adventure sports, another activity that I really like is bar hopping and exploring the night life. When it comes to night life and bars and discos, Cancun vacations in Mexico is one of the top destinations. Here you can see the famous Hard Rock Cafe which is probably one of the largest clubs consisting of four floors. You also have an option to visit smaller bars and other smaller venues to avoid too much crowd. Nevertheless, huge or small venues both offer a good time.

Aside from the lively nightlife in Cancun, you can also enjoy other activities such as golf, visiting eco-parks and watching cultural activities such as bullfights and folkloric ballets. For people who love the waters, you can enjoy swimming, scuba diving and snorkeling. Water skiing, fishing charters, cruising and night fishing are available. If you want to explore the beauty of nature, you can visit Cancun’s underground caves and there you can also snorkel or simply just swim.

What I Want for Christmas

Friday, December 14th, 2007

Everyone has his wish list of what he prefers to receive as a Christmas present this holiday season and I would like to share mine to you. Even before the official launch of iPhone, I’ve been reading a lot of iPhone reviews from different websites. I actually once pretended that I had one and wrote an iphone review myself. Yeah… That may be kind of crazy. Anyway, as I was saying, I’ve read so much about this gadget and having my own iPhone would be the perfect gift for me.

Well, I do have enough savings to buy an iPhone but I think it would be really great if I just get it free as a gift. Over the past days, I’ve always been telling my mom and girlfriend how cool an iPhone it and that anyone will definitely be lucky to receive it as a gift. Well, this is probably a desperation move; hoping that at least one of them would think of actually giving me one. Having an iPhone wherever I travel for a holiday is definitely great. I could almost imagine myself holding my own iPhone.

Colorado Adventure

Friday, December 14th, 2007

Colorado is one of the best destinations when it comes to outdoor sport activities. Here, you can see and experience the beauty and adventure that the Grand Canyon can offer. There was a time when I became really addicted to rock climbing and canyoneering that I even though of buying a boulder real estate property. Well, that did not push through because I eventually got tired of rock climbing. But I still go rock climbing with some of my friends once in a while.

Hiking and trekking is probably a boring sport for a lot of people. However, with the scenic beauty that you can witness with hiking in the trails of Colorado, you will never find them boring. National theme parks in Colorado are also worth visiting. Here you can see the preserved sanctuary for both flora and fauna. You can also enjoy camping or caravanning in these theme parks. Colorado just offers endless opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts like me.
