Cheering for Red Sox

Thursday, December 13th, 2007

Aside from outdoor activities and adventure sports, I also enjoy watching ball games such as basketball, volleyball, tennis and baseball. I was actually a baseball player when I was in college but I never excelled in that sport. In a couple of months, my girlfriend and I will probably Travel to Boston to watch a live game by the Boston Red Sox. This is not the first live Major League Baseball game that I’m going to see but I really love the team that I’m willing to travel for one of their live games.

My girlfriend actually thinks that baseball is a boring game but I guess she just doesn’t realize the beauty of the sport. Perhaps because she likes more adventure and action rather than just focus, concentration and mind games. I’ve already quit playing baseball but I have a small collection of baseball memorabillas that I got from live games and fans days. They are well kept in my room and I consider them as my treasures. I’m already excited about the game and though it is still going to happen a few months from now, I can help but look forward to it.

Thanksgiving

Sunday, December 9th, 2007

Our family holds a small gathering every year just before Christmas. During this time of the year, family members from different places travel to my grandmother’s home in Arkansas. We arrived here just this morning and we were just really tired. My cousin gave me a brass door furniture as a present and they were all laughing at me. It was actually a joke because he told me when we were still children that he would give me a house as a present. Well, he’s trying to give the house in installment.

This gathering serves as a thanks giving for my grandmother. She used to have a serious ailment but is miraculously got cured. Thirty years after that and she still looks good and strong. As I look at her, I can see how happy she is to see her children and grandchildren to be celebrating for her. Grandma is a really nice person. Whenever my mom and aunts talk about her, all I can hear are good things. Tomorrow we shall go to the church, attend a mass and thank God for all the blessings that He had given us; especially my grandmother.

Business and Leisure

Sunday, December 9th, 2007

Recreation and leisure are not the only reasons why people travel. People could travel because of reunions, for medical purposes, and other personal reasons. Business meeting is also probably one of the main reasons for traveling. Though technology has invented Telepresence systems that will allow people to talk and have meetings as if they were really facing each other, nothing compares to a personal conversation. This is more formal and probably preferred by many people.

Though your main reason for traveling in another country or city is for business purposes, this does not mean you can no longer have some fun. Researching and learning about your destination will help you make the most out of your travel. You can get things done and accomplish goals for business purposes of your travel and you can go shopping, sight seeing, nature tripping and do other exciting activities. How you enjoy your self will just depend on how you manage your time to balance business and leisure.

Meeting New People

Sunday, December 9th, 2007

More than just seeing new things, enjoying wonderful views and having fun with different activities, meeting new people is another thing that I enjoy about traveling. Shane is probably the most beautiful lady that I’ve ever met through traveling in Spain. She is a programmer, which is rare for women by the way, and she has done a lot of websites like Lawyer Search, sports, business and arcade websites. We had a wonderful time within the three days that we’ve been together.

After leaving Spain, Shane and I continued to get in touch with each other through phone calls and emails. We became really good friends and we would often talk about the different places we have traveled to. Unfortunately, we both became very busy that we could no longer find time for each other. Despite that, I’m very thankful to have met her not only because she made me happy but also because I’ve learned a lot of new things from her.

Camping and Caravan

Sunday, December 9th, 2007

The only country in the world that is also considered as a continent and because of that, it is the smallest continent in the world. My friends once visited this country to go caravanning. I went there with Jane who had brought her baby with her. Though there was not a problem at all because there were a lot of advertised Brisbane Nannies in the internet. We got the services of a good looking company website and Jane’s baby was taken care off.

We got a caravan good for four persons and we went to a park to camp. That was probably one of the best camping I’ve ever experienced. If you are looking to camp in the outdoors but still have everything that you need in one place, caravanning is definitely a must try for you. Others say that this recreation is less exciting than camping but I’d say that they’re just the same. Perhaps caravanning is just better for people who are less athletic don’t want their camping too adventurous.

Simple Yet Exciting Camping

Friday, December 7th, 2007

Exploring the outdoors and taking time to appreciate nature gives me a relaxing feeling. I can’t help but go back to my high school days when I go camping almost every weekend. I had a friend who was studying in http://www.vegasculinary.com/ and she would often cook simple meals for supper during our camping trips. We used to play games, tell stories and try scaring each other. Yeah.. Those were the great days. I still go camping now but now as frequent as we used to.

Sometimes even a simple backyard camping can turn to an unforgettable experience. We once organized a really big camping trip with around twenty people joining us. We arrived at the camping spot, gathered some fire woods and put up our tents in preparation for the camp fire. After we ate our supper we gathered around huge fire and we would share some urban legends that we know. Hide and seek is the game that I always anticipate and it never fails to excite me. Too bad its kind off hard to organize such simple yet exciting camping trip because my friends are now too busy with their jobs.

Travel Lifestyle

Friday, December 7th, 2007

Traveling and enjoying the outdoors is not just a hobby for me but it has been my lifestyle for years. I’m an average income earner but even if I have to apply for short term personal loans just to sustain my travel lifestyle. I feel lucky to have found my girlfriend Dulce who shares the same interests as I do. We often go trekking, mountain climbing, horseback riding and swimming together. Though we haven’t gone to the most popular places in the world, we are planning to visit those eventually.

My collection is consisting of things and souvenirs that I get from places that I’ve been. Be it stones, wooden figurines or postcards, I keep them in a safe place and treasure them. Knowing the world more than just what is read in books and what is watched on TV is a great lifestyle. It gives me a sense of appreciation of the different places, of different people and most especially, the nature. It is true that there’s so much more than meets the eye because being there yourself is the ultimate experience.
