ISO 15963 vicinity cards that may run and transmit data in a frequency of 2.4 GHz or more (greater frequencies are commonly used in industrial computing systems for faster transmission of data). Series Embedded Computer is used as well for they are compact, designed for space-critical applications. Equipped with VESA mount, PCMCIA expansion, dual display capability and tough casting construction, perfect for signage, POI and Kiosk applications.

Industrial Motherboards are also used for they are not only designed specifically for POS but also for other applications like DVR, Kiosks, ATM, Multimedia etc. that require many I/O connections and rugged features at a reasonable price at ElatecWorld.com and another thing needed to build industrial computing systems are Pre-Configured Systems which are designed especially for mission-critical embedded applications. The use of RFID and PCMCIA cards are widely used today for storage of large data. There are three types of PCMCIA, each have different uses but all three have the same rectangular size (85.6 by 54 millimeters) though each differ in width. Different PCMCIA cards use PCMCIA Reader Type 1 is 3.3 mm thick, and is used primarily for adding additional ROM or RAM to a computer. The next types are used for modem and fax modem cards and are 5.5 mm thick and are called Type II cards. Type III PCMCIA cards on the other hand is used for portable disk drives and is 10.5 mm thick.

An RFID card as well uses different RFID Readers for varied types of RFID tags. Some type of RFID tags are Passive tags, this type of tag has no internal power supply. The minute electrical current induced in the antenna provides power to power up and transmit a response to the reader. Active tags on the other hand have their own internal power source, which is used to power the integrated circuits and broadcast the signal to the reader that are attached to Touch screen gadgets for faster access of data. Other types are semi-passive, extended capability and antenna types.
